Sisters
Chicken Friendly
The chickens are quite comfortable with the girls. They are both very gentle with the chicks. The birds are now living outside - not in my house! Jeff and I finished the fencing and set-up needed to keep them outside. They are quite big now. All the bird phraseology is being played out - birds of a feather flock together, for example. It reminds me of 4 and 5-year-olds playing soccer - they just moved around the field in one group. The chicken and ducks do everything together - the ducks want to be with the chickens as well.
Yellow Brick Road
Canoe Trip
We celebrated our anniversary on a canoe! Six years!! We paddeled 7 miles down the French Broad River, which was very beautiful. Most of it was through the Biltmore property. Much of the river was only 2-4 feet deep, so we got our different places and splashed around. It took the girls about half an hour to realized that you have to sit in a canoe, but after that everything was great. Hosanna even napped along the way.

Slip N Slide
Farming Young
Jubilee took this picture! We are actually seeing some progress in our garden. We planted corn and cucumber seeds directing in the ground and they actually came up! They are doing much better than the seeds I coddled and spritzed. Onions, tomatoes, beans, watermelon, squash, potatoes, as well as the corn and cucumbers are growing!
Family Fishing
Today we went fishing in the French Broad River. It was such a great time! It was the first time we had all gone together - last weekend Jeff and Jubilee had made their very first attempt on their father -daughter camping trip. We actually caught fish too! Jeff caught two and Jubilee caught one! They were small, but the bite and catch are such exciting! We fried up the fish Jubi caught, to which she commented that the fish looked prettier swimming in the water! Hosanna was happy to play among the rocks and give us worms when needed them...fun! We picniced after our adventure...very happy to find an event we could all enjoy together.
